This brief requires me to create 5 book covers for 5 different sci-fi novels. They also have to come with their own unique bespoke typeface.
This post will cover my intentions of how I will present these books and how they are going to work together as part of a set.
PRODUCT
Once the 5 books from a fairy extensive genre have been chosen I would like to package them together in a box set. This would be an appropriate thing to do and is something that is common place when packaging books together.
RANGE
In order for me to create a brief that is more substantial in terms of its range, I will be considering creating other products to go with the books set. Products like...
- Bookmarks
- Posters
- key-rings
- Mugs etc.
These products will help in creating more of a range. However I would also want products that could work with the box set. For Example.
- A zine that would come with the box set explaining the genre and that would also provide people with insight about the authors and the titles they have written.
Products like these would give the product more integrity.
DISTRIBUTION
The product, when completed, could be sold in various bookstores such as waterstones or it could be sold online on sites such as amazon. The distribution of the product has lead me to think of of promotional events that could be proposed in order to gain recognition. This would also lead to other products that would have a meaning rather than just changing the format of an object.
