This post shows a mock up drinks menu that has been mocked up in illustrator with a black and white version of the logo as the header. I experimented with a number of typefaces that were relevant in terms of the style of the establishment and also to the era of Art deco.
none of the typefaces worked as well or were better suited than futura. This font is readable and ais suited for the style. I have also used a typeface called Motor Oil 1937 which is very similar to futura but thicker for the headings.
I can already get a good idea of how the menu will work from this mock up. Now its time to take it into Indesign to design it professionally.
