This post explore the different techniques and methods that I used to try and create a successful vine style typeface that would work over an existing typeface.
Hand rendered techniques have proved to look the best with digital rendered versions done on illustrator looking like they have been done on microsoft paint.
A mixture between the two mediums will have to be met in order to gain the best results for the cover.
After todays faffing I have decided that the text should be printed out showing the stroke only and then the vines and purple flowers of the Triffids will be drawn in by hand, then cut out on photoshop.
Easier said than done.
