Dune Type Sand/Spice Idea Development

This idea involved me forming a series of dots with the brush tool on illustrator over the helvetica smooth typeface that I had modified. The effect of sand blowing of the type I thought worked very well.

As well as sand from the planet Arrakis also featured on the cover, the dots represent the stars on the black background to which they would be placed upon. 

This idea took a while to develop as the brushes I tried to create in Illustrator did not achieve the desired effect. Each dot had to be rendered one at a time to achieve the wind/space swept effect that was needed to create and interesting piece of typogrpaphy.
